The Most Useful Chromatography Accessories Chromatography is a separation technique that is used in analytical chemistry to separate substances of different solubilities. The way that it works is that we have a stationary phase that is usually a solid. This is the phase that is going to be retaining the analyte when it is run through it. The other is the mobile phase that is run through the stationary phase. The rate of separation and the extent that the different components of the analyte separate and travel through the mobile phase is the basis of this technique. After the separation, the substance can be concluded to have how many substances and what these substances are. The most common form of this technique is the high performance liquid chromatography This utilizes a column where the mobile phase is packed in. The substance inside the column can be either a solid or a liquid. The analyte is then run through the mobile phase. If the size of the particles that are in the column is too small, there is need to expedite the process. This is where pressure is applied and when this is done, we have what is known as a highhigh? pressure liquid chromatograph This can be more or less accurate that the one where we let the analyte flow through the analyte by means of gravity.

So from the above, we can see that there are certain chromatography accessories that we have to have. The first set of these accessories is the column hardware that we are going to be using. This includes the column and all other fittings that come with it. All of these form part of what is known as the mobile phase accessories. The second set is obviously the tubings and the connections that are going to separate the different parts of the whole set up. These are often used to deliver the mobile phase during theHPLC. After that we need to have valves that open in only one way. This is so as to ensure we are not having anything or any liquid flowing in the direction that it ought not to. When doing the HPLC, it is important to minimize contamination and by ensuring there is no back flow, this can be greatly reduced.? Then there may be the need to have columns that purify the air and deliver nitrogen in its purest form. This is needed when we need to apply pressure to the setup. After all is said and done, there is the most important accessory of them all. This is the instrument that is used to analyze the results that you find after performing the chromatography. Mostly all of these things come in a set and the only thing that you need to do then is to set up and you are good to go.
